Mechanic heavy - Despite its looks Highfleet is ANYTHING but an arcade game.FTL-like difficulty - meaning it ramps up relatively early and relatively sharp, it will most likely cost you your first couple of attempts.A Homeworldesque feeling - you have a persistent fleet, limited resources and the odds are stacked against you.
Highfleet is a more niche, less accessible game. If you're looking for a more sandbox, more relaxing, and a multiplayer-capable game of airship combat, then I recommend Airship Conquer the Skies instead. It has the same potential FTL has had, and I don't think you can say that about many games. At times it feels like a game currently in Early Access, but it has launched as a finished game, and this is what most negative reviews are about.īut if the devs fix these issues and perhaps add more content in the coming months, then Highfleet could very well end up being the strategy game of the year.
